Sriracha Hot Pepper (Capsicum annuum)
Known as the chili behind the world-famous hot sauce, the Sriracha pepper is a versatile, moderately hot variety with a heat level of about 5,000 Scoville units—similar to a jalapeño. Plants mature in 120 days, producing conical fruits 5–10 cm long.
Fruits start dark green, ripen to bright red, and develop wrinkled skin as their heat intensifies—the more wrinkles, the hotter the pepper. They are excellent for pickling, cooking, or fresh use in hot dishes, adding both flavor and moderate spice.
In addition to their culinary value, Sriracha peppers are rich in vitamins A and C and contain natural compounds with anti-bacterial, anti-diabetic, and anti-inflammatory properties. Traditionally, they have been valued for helping with headaches, nasal congestion, and joint pain.
By look and taste it is similar to Jalapeno pepper and they share the same Health benefits of Jalapeno.
