Rhubarb Seeds (Rheum rhabarbarum)

Rhubarb is a beloved perennial plant that offers both culinary and ornamental value. Its large, decorative leaves and vibrant red-green stalks make a striking addition to any garden — and those same stalks are deliciously edible and nutritious.

Growing Instructions

Rhubarb is easy to grow from seed:

1. Soak seeds overnight in water before planting.

2. Sow about 5 mm deep in pots or trays and water regularly.

3. When seedlings reach about 15 cm tall, transplant them into the garden.

4. Space plants at least 3 feet apart, as they expand each year and can grow quite large.

Once established, rhubarb returns year after year — stronger and more abundant with each season.
