Watch this video to learn the easy way to propagate lavender from live cuttings.

We planted cuttings  taken from dormant plants in beginning of April.

They originally looked like those - silver-grey foliage, but if you look closer at the bottom of the fresh-cut stem, you will see a very thin rink of green under the bark:

5 days after planting - new seedlings look unchanged. We water them every day and keep the tray at the South facing window:

10-12 days after planting cuttings, they start growing new tiny green branches and become generally greener - silver color of remaining foliage change to green. Some "needles" will fall off - do not worry about them - new branches will grow once the root system established:

As I explained in the video, keep your potted cuttings in SUNNY spot UNCOVERED, as they need air, sun and water to grow.

Do not expect the roots to appear "overnight" - even though cuttings start growing green branches, it will take about 2 months for them to establish good root ball.

So do not jerk them out of the soil every once in a while just to check if there are roots already :)  Be patient and do not forget to water them.
