Lavender Harvest – A Fragrant Family Tradition

Lavender   harvest time is one of the most special moments of the year on our farm. It brings the whole family together out in the field, where we spend joyful summer days cutting, bundling, and hanging lavender to dry.

This year, it took us almost five full days to complete the harvest — the plants grow larger and more abundant every season, rewarding us with more fragrant blooms than the year before.

A Blooming Summer Attraction

By July, our lavender fields turn into a breathtaking sea of purple. Many passersby can’t resist stopping to admire the view and take photos. One local photographer even scheduled a special session to capture her clients among the lavender rows.

More Than Just Fragrance

Visitors often ask for growing tips or stop by to purchase fresh bundles. Over the years, we’ve learned just how versatile lavender is — used not only for aromatherapy, but also for:

  • Candy making and culinary creations

  •  Wedding décor and floral arrangements

  • Scented cards and crafts

  • Natural insect repellent in chicken coops

And while we work among the rows or hang the lavender in the barn, we can’t help but smile — because truly, we might have the best-smelling job in the world.
