Mugwort (Artemisia Vulgaris) is often called "A weed with potential". It is a perennial plant with deep and woody root system, growing up to 5 fee tall and flowering from July to September. The plant thrives in almost any environment and any type of soil.
Mugwort is used medicinally in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean traditional medicine.
Women take mugwort for irregular periods and other menstrual problems. PREGNANT WOMEN MUST NEVER TAKE OR BE NEAR MUGWORT.
Herb is used for stomach and intestinal conditions (colic, diarrhea, constipation, cramps, weak digestion, etc), it can sooth joint pain

BUT interesting recent research result shows that Mugwort's component called artemisinin is toxic to certain cancer cells, meaning potential power for killing cancerous cells. The mechanism seems to be simple: cancer cells contain high level of iron, that it targeted by artemisinin, in subsequent chemical reaction free radicals are produced, which destroy cancer cells from the inside.
